Will Williams was born in Germany and served with the US-5th Army-OSS in World War II. He came to Hollywood and started a career that spanned decades, creating more than a thousand original Poster-Key-Arts for the world's major movie companies.
Some of Williams' most well-known posters were for John Ford's "Rio Grande" and "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon"; - also "High Noon" "Yellow Sky", "Mutiny on the Bounty", "Gentlemen prefer Blondes", "River of No Return", "Prince Valiant", "The Robe", "Quo Vadis" and "Ivanhoe".
Will then dropped out of the Hollywood scene and moved to Santiago, Chile, to join the love of his life, Rosita Serrano, a famous singer/actress called "The Chilean Nightingale" who had starred on international Musical-Stages; including Broadway.
While in Chile, Williams signed on with Jacques Cousteau as the official Illustrator for Cousteau's "Amazon River Adventure" Williams also painted 30 Cowboy Portraits for "Gene Autrey's Western Museum of American Heritage" in Glendale, California.
In the midst of the 1960s, Williams collaborated with director John Ford on "The Cowboy Kings of Western Fame" series; a published portfolio containing 32 Western Stars. Movie posters made Will Williams famous internationally. In Berlin he began his career, in Rome he learned 'light handed' painting, in Germany he became a celebrity and in Hollywood he made it right to the top.
Recently he created paintings of the NEW-Stars in Action for the enjoyment of their international fans. In addition to his current works, this seasoned artist is also beginning a new project initiated by the US-Government. He has been commissioned to illustrate 'Secret Agents in Action' for the upcoming "Secret Service Museum" in Washington, DC.
